Eric and I had a fun conversation the other night about newborns.
He teased me about worrying right after Colby was born. I had noticed that he only scored an 8 on his one minute Apgar. Eric said I continued to ask the nurse about why he only scored and 8 and which of the 5 criteria he missed points in. I do not remember this at all, of course, but Eric vividly remembers every detail. For the record, Colbs scored a 9 on his 5 minute test...
We also enjoyed laughing about and experimenting with Kailey's reflexes. Many people don't know about the basic infantile reflexes. You really should read up on this interesting topic. I tried to get a photo of Kailey demonstrating the smiling reflex for us, but the red-eye reduction feature on my camera makes for a good 2 second delay! This is as close as I came...
I did snap a great one of the tonic neck (and if you didn't catch it, she's doing it in the above photo as well)...
Doesn't she look terrified? I promise, it's just because she has big eyes! I love it!
When I grow up I want to study Child Development! Yahoo!Molly left this for Daddy on the hopechest at the end of our bed:

Boy, it sure is nice to feel GREAT! Up and around and not dreading bending over to pick things up...
It seems like those last few weeks of pregnancy just dragged on and on, with me feeling poorly the whole time. That pain that happened with baby's movement was really beginning to wear me down. And I think we all agree that she was an active one! So am I pretty happy to kiss that part goodbye.
We have been blessed by a few meals here and there over this past week and it has been heavenly. To shout, "Dinner's ready!" without having to shop, prep, or cook the meal has been quite exciting, even for me who loves to do such things. I have taken that extra time to snuggle Kailey Elizabeth and just enjoy games and books with the other kids. We have been blessed by thoughtful friends and family.
Thank you bunches to those who came out for my birthday Sunday night. I WAS SURPRISED! Eric ran out at about 5 to return a movie and he came back with a huge sheet cake. All I could think when I saw it was, "It looks yummy and all, but we already have a ton of sweets in the house..." Then I saw soda in the fridge and I said, "WHAT is going on here?" We rarely have soda in the house, nevermind 4 bottles! Eric laughed. "There are a few people coming over. I wasn't sure how to keep it a total secret." FUN TIMES! I feel very loved and am thankful for many great friends.
What's the deal with all these warm, sunny days? I have always been head over heels for October and November. Now I'm more in love than ever. The leaves are still crunchy and the air still smells unmistakably like autumn. I look forward to getting some use out of the used double jogger I bought before the snow flies. Of course you know I mean by walking, not jogging. It goes without saying...
Don't forget to pray for our soldiers and take the time to write a letter or send a package. If you need a name and an address, I will give you one!

Yup, I'm still pregnant!
Waitin' for E to get home.
Enjoyed my day with Libby Lou while the older kids were at Friday School.
Feelin' flush.
Can't imagine where on earth the laundry fairy has been hidin'. There are 2 huge loads waitin' for her right smack dab in the middle of the bathroom floor. HELLO!?
Woke up at 2am and watched 2 episodes of COPS. No, I'm not kidding. I suppose hulu will be the death of me.
Wishin' I had a nickel for every person in the past two days who has asked, "Aren't you overdue?"
Rain, rain, Go away. Come again another day!
